Job summary

Apex Technology, Inc. is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to design, implement, and optimize secure cloud environments supporting U.S. government missions from Playa Vista, CA.

This role covers AWS GovCloud, Azure, and multi-cloud setups with emphasis on compliance and risk management. You will work with DevSecOps to enforce IAM/RBAC, Zero Trust, encryption, and data protection while aligning with NIST, FedRAMP, RMF, and DoD requirements.

Qualifications

• 5–9+ years in cloud security engineering, with hands-on work in AWS GovCloud, Azure, Google GCP, or multi-cloud environments.
• Experience securing cloud platforms in regulated environments and implementing security controls in CI/CD pipelines.
• U.S. citizen required for access to government data and compliance regimes.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure cloud architectures across AWS GovCloud, Azure, and Google Cloud.
• Maintain compliance with NIST 800-53 Rev. 5, FedRAMP, DoD ILs, RMF, and SCCA requirements.
• Configure IAM/RBAC, JIT access, Key Vaults, and Zero Trust Architecture across cloud environments.
• Engineer and deploy cloud-native security tools (Defender for Cloud, Azure Sentinel, AWS GovCloud services).
• Perform vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and continuous monitoring of cloud resources.
• Develop and maintain SSPs, SARs, POA&Ms, and risk/compliance reporting for cloud operations.
• Coordinate incident response and root-cause analyses; implement preventive controls.
• Guide DevSecOps, CI/CD, and IaC practices (Terraform, CloudFormation) for secure migrations.
