Job summary

Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. seeks an experienced accounting professional to support GAAP-compliant financial reporting across government contracting operations. This role emphasizes accuracy, audit-readiness, and independent management of significant accounting responsibilities.

You will work with Costpoint, cost accounting managers, program managers, and other functions to ensure accurate job costing, revenue recognition, and prep for audits across CPFF, FFP, and T&M contracts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field with at least 3 years of applicable experience.
• Strong proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database/ERP systems.
• Experience with government contractors and FAR is strongly preferred.
• Experience using Deltek CostPoint and related cost accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare invoices for federal/state government and commercial customers for CPFF, FFP, and T&M contracts, ensuring audit-readiness.
• Ensure revenue recognition is GAAP-compliant.
• Coordinate with management monthly to verify accurate profit margins for inventory and revenue.
• Prepare and enter journal entries with accuracy for review.
• Assist in indirect rate applications, job costing, and financial report packages.
• Support annual and government audits and auditor inquiries as requested.
• Assist with month- and year-end closing processes.
