Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Cloud Architect to design secure, scalable cloud platforms for mission-critical applications in accredited U.S. Government environments.

This hands-on role spans software engineering, DevSecOps, cybersecurity, data, and government platform teams to move solutions into production. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline with 12+ years of relevant experience.
• Extensive hands-on Microsoft Azure architecture and engineering experience, including networking, IAM, PaaS, data services, security, monitoring, and resiliency.
• Production systems experience in U.S. Government, DoD, or similarly regulated cloud environments.
• Strong knowledge of government cloud security and authorization requirements, including zero trust, least privilege, security boundaries, inherited controls, RMF/ATO.
• Experience designing landing zones, IaC, CI/CD, environment progression, and secure deployment patterns.
• Experience architecting complex integrations across cloud, enterprise, and restricted environments.
• Experience developing reusable cloud architecture patterns and technical standards.
• Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure government cloud architectures, including landing zones, networking, identity, storage, and databases.
• Translate requirements into scalable, secure solutions with tradeoffs among security, reliability, and cost.
• Build, review, test, and troubleshoot cloud components such as IaC, deployment automation, IAM, networking, and observability.
• Lead resolution of complex technical problems using logs, metrics, and root‑cause analysis.
• Design for authorization from the start, aligning with RMF/ATO controls and bounded interfaces.
• Establish secure deployment patterns with CI/CD, artifact promotion, config management, and multi‑enclave connectivity.
• Create reusable engineering assets and runbooks adopted across products and teams.
• Provide hands‑on technical leadership through delivery and operations.
