Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Cloud Architect to design secure, scalable cloud platforms for mission-critical government applications in accredited environments. This hands-on role spans software engineering, DevSecOps, cybersecurity, and government platform teams to move solutions to production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or related field with 12+ years of experience.
• Extensive hands-on Microsoft Azure architecture and engineering in government/cloud environments.
• Experience delivering production systems in U.S. Government/DoD or regulated environments.
• Strong knowledge of RMF/ATO, zero trust, security boundaries, inherited controls.
• Experience designing landing zones, IaC, CI/CD, and secure deployment patterns.
• Experience integrating cloud/enterprise/restricted environments with APIs and data movement.
• Proven ability to create reusable cloud architecture patterns and standards.
• Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure government cloud architectures, including landing zones, networking, identity, storage, databases, and hosting.
• Translate requirements into scalable, secure solutions balancing security, reliability, performance, and cost.
• Build, review, test, and troubleshoot critical cloud components (IaC, configurations, deployment automation, IAM, networking).
• Lead resolution of complex technical issues across cloud environments using logs, metrics, and root-cause analysis.
• Design for authorization from the start, maximize reuse of authorized services and inherited controls.
• Establish secure deployment patterns with CI/CD, artifact promotion, and environment progression.
• Create reusable engineering assets, runbooks, and troubleshooting guidance for adoption.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership ensuring production readiness, observability, and cost planning.
