Job summary

Navy Region Southwest Golf Shop Supervisor in Monterey, CA oversees retail golf shop operations, cash handling, and customer service as part of the Golf Branch of the MWR. The incumbent assists the Golf Operations Manager, performs administrative duties, and acts as Facility Manager in the manager’s absence.

Qualified candidates have at least one year in golf shop operations or equivalent leadership experience, with strong communication and cash handling skills and the ability to direct staff.

Qualifications

• A minimum of one year experience which provides knowledge of golf club operations or equivalent leadership experience is required.
• Must possess familiarity with proper cash handling procedures and have the ability to communicate both orally and in writing, and to provide work direction to other employees.

Responsibilities

• 70% Retail Golf Shop: Assist in efficient operation and administration of the Golf Pro Shop and related areas, including retail space, club and cart rentals, and driving range program; manage sales counter and cash register.
• Assist in merchandise purchasing, display, inventory records, and buying planning for the next season; promote sales and customer service.
• 20% Administration: Input for golf recreation program development; coordinate leagues, outings, clinics, and tournaments; supervise golf shop personnel.
• Maintain records (usage reports, purchase orders, employee data, inventories); manage funds and deposits; act as Facility Manager in supervisor's absence.
• 10% Course Management: Enforce golf course rules, resolve patron issues, and perform related duties.
