The U.S. Department of the Navy, located at NAS Corpus Christi, Texas, seeks an assistant to the Golf Course manager to ensure smooth operations across the golf facility including the cart barn, driving range, starting and ranging, pro shop and snack bar.

Job description

This position is assigned to the Golf Course Division, Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department, Commander, Navy Region Southeast (CNRSE), Navy Installations Command (CNIC); located at NAS Corpus Christi, Texas. Incumbent of this position is an assistant to the Golf Course manager and/or Business Activity Manager, responsible for efficient golf operation inside and outside to include but not limited to; Cart Barn, Driving Range, Starting and Ranging, Pro Shop and Snack Bar.

A qualified candidate must possess the following:

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Must be thoroughly familiar with the game of golf in order to instruct the game and provide rulings.
  • Experience working with an organized golf program and golf operations.
  • Ability to communicate and relate to patrons of all ages and ranks.
  • Ability to provide leadership, supervision and gain respect from all participants.
  • Skill to tactfully deal with patrons under various situations, such as enforcing rules, policies or providing instruction.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

RELOCATION:

  • NO Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) is authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest
