Job summary

City of Boynton Beach seeks a qualified professional to manage golf shop operations, assist with golf instruction, and deliver excellent customer service to golfers and visitors. Successful candidate will supervise staff, handle merchandise and curb issues with composure, while ensuring safety and smooth daily operations.

The role requires prior golf-related experience, PAT clearance with PGA/LPGA Level 2, CPR/First Aid within 90 days, and a Florida driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years’ experience including golf instruction, golf course operations, and customer relations.
• Must have passed the Playing Ability Test (PAT) by PGA and be an active PGA/LPGA Level 2 Associate.
• Must maintain or obtain CPR and First Aid certification within 90 days of hire.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver’s license within 14 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Direct, guide and assist employees; coordinate work activities and schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
• Operate the golf shop; perform opening/closing procedures; oversee staff on duty, player assistants, cart attendants and range attendants.
• Coordinate starting times; record rounds; announce golfers to the tee.
• Provide customer service and information related to golf shop services, merchandise, fees and tee times; resolve routine questions or complaints.
• Assist customers with golfing activities; provide swing guidance and club usage advice; transport customers on golf course grounds using a cart; administer CPR/First Aid in emergencies.
• Conduct merchandise sales; manage inventory; stock and count inventory.
• Handle payments; issue receipts; balance cash receipts and forward as appropriate.
• Perform miscellaneous tasks including re-charging carts, loading bags, cleaning clubs, and maintaining equipment.
• Operate equipment and tools (tractor, golf carts, range machines, cash registers, PA system, etc.).
• Maintain safety; follow procedures and ensure a safe work environment.
