Overview

The Fountains Country Club is seeking a motivated, service-oriented Golf Shop Associate to join our Golf Operations team. This position plays an important role in providing an exceptional experience for our members and guests while supporting the daily operations of the Golf Shop.

The ideal candidate is friendly, professional, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced private country club environment. This position requires strong customer service and communication skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to assist the Golf Operations team in ensuring the Golf Shop operates efficiently and professionally.

Experience Required

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in customer service, retail, hospitality, or golf operations preferred.
• Basic knowledge of golf, including golf equipment, merchandise, and etiquette.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact positively and professionally with members, guests, and fellow employees.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and professional Golf Shop environment.
• Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.
• Proactive, positive, and service-oriented attitude.
• Knowledge of golf merchandise, apparel, accessories, and equipment preferred.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic cash-handling procedures.
• Ability to learn and utilize club software and golf operations technology.
• Ability to work flexible hours based on club needs, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to work in South Florida weather conditions when required.
• Physical ability to sit, stand, walk, climb ladders, squat, kneel, reach, grasp, push, pull, twist, bend, and lift/carry up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to effectively communicate through speaking and listening and perform duties requiring adequate vision and hearing.

Essential Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service in the Golf Shop by welcoming members and guests and creating a friendly, professional environment.
• Process purchases, charges, and other transactions accurately through the club's POS system.
• Check in members and guests for their rounds and assist with daily tee-time operations.
• Handle member and guest inquiries and assist with tee-time bookings in person and over the phone.
• Maintain a calm, courteous, and attentive demeanor while handling busy periods, member requests, and operational challenges.
• Follow proper cash-handling procedures and all established Golf Shop operating standards.
• Manage Golf Shop inventory, including receiving and checking in merchandise, organizing storage and display areas, maintaining appropriate stock levels, and communicating special orders to customers.
• Assist with merchandise returns, exchanges, credits, and other Golf Shop transactions in accordance with club policies.
• Maintain an attractive, clean, organized, and well-stocked Golf Shop and surrounding areas.
• Assist with the preparation and execution of golf tournaments, member events, and special events as assigned.
• Provide operational and administrative support to the Head Golf Professional, General Manager, and Tournament Coordinators.
• Assist with member communications and other Golf Operations administrative tasks as directed.
• Complete end-of-day Golf Shop and business functions in accordance with established club procedures.
• Restock merchandise, supplies, and operational materials as needed.
• Communicate member concerns, inventory needs, operational issues, and other relevant information to management in a timely manner.
• Attend daily briefings and participate in required meetings, training, and departmental activities.
• Assist fellow team members and take on additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
• Follow all Fountains Country Club, company, Golf Operations Department, and safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain a professional appearance, positive attitude, and commitment to excellence in all interactions with members, guests, colleagues, and club staff.
• Represent The Fountains Country Club and the Golf Operations Department in a professional manner at all times.
