Job summary

New Berlin Hills Golf Course in New Berlin, WI is seeking a part-time Golf Shop Assistant for a seasonal role lasting up to six months. You will support the Head Golf Professional and assistants with daily golf operations, golf shop upkeep, and guest service in a cooperative Troon-managed environment.

Responsibilities include golf check-in, fee collection, tee sheet reconciliation, POS transactions, promoting club activities, and maintaining shop cleanliness.

Qualifications

Description

New Berlin Hills Golf Course, located in New Berlin, WI, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a part-time Golf Shop Assistant! We are seeking a motivated individual who is interested in contributing to a positive experience for our members and guests while continuing to grow their knowledge of golf club operations. As an associate of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management. Role Type: Seasonal (Position will last 6 months or less) Compensation: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

• Assists the Head Golf Professional and Assistant Golf Professionals with the daily management of golf operations.
• Assists with golfer check-in and fee collection; controls and manages play; reconciles daily tee sheets.
• Assists in administering all point-of-sale application revisions and needs as they apply to green fee sales, merchandise sales, and member and guest billing.
• Promotes all club golf activities.
• Assists with maintaining a clean, orderly, and well-stocked golf shop.
• Assists with maintaining proper records and billing of storage and lockers for membership.
• Assists golf professionals during tournaments and weekly games.
• Monitors all members' scores, reports handicapping to the USGA, and bills members.
• Follows established opening and closing procedures.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications:

Must be 18 years of age or older

Knowledge/Skill:

• Must be motivated to thrive in the golf industry.
• Experienced in written and oral business communication.
• Experienced in computer use, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher. Proficient in other applications, including email, internet, and database management.
• Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.
• Self-motivated with a desire to promote and market.
• Service- and customer-focused attitude.
• Maintains and promotes a positive professional image within the community.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma required.
• Some college or a college degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Previous golf course or retail experience preferred.

Certificates/Licenses:

Valid driver's license required.
