Job summary

New Berlin Hills Golf Course in New Berlin, WI is seeking a part-time Golf Shop Assistant for a seasonal role lasting about six months. You will support golf operations, assist members and guests, and help manage the shop and tee sheets.

The ideal candidate is 18+, with basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Publisher), strong communication and organizational abilities, and a customer-focused, professional image. Prior golf/retail experience is a plus; valid driver's license required.

Qualifications

• Prior golf course or retail experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head and Assistant Golf Professionals with daily golf operations.
• Check-in golfers, collect fees, manage play, and reconcile tee sheets.
• Assist in POS revisions for green fee and merchandise sales.
• Promote club golf activities and maintain a clean shop.
• Maintain records for storage and lockers; assist tournaments.
• Follow opening/closing procedures and safety practices.

Job description

New Berlin Hills Golf Course, located in New Berlin, WI, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a part-time Golf Shop Assistant! We are seeking a motivated individual who is interested in contributing to a positive experience for our members and guests while continuing to grow their knowledge of golf club operations. As an associate of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.

Role Type

Seasonal (Position will last 6 months or less)

Compensation

$13.00 - $15.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities

• Assists the Head Golf Professional and Assistant Golf Professionals with the daily management of golf operations.
• Assists with golfer check-in and fee collection; controls and manages play; reconciles daily tee sheets.
• Assists in administering all point-of-sale application revisions and needs as they apply to green fee sales, merchandise sales, and member and guest billing.
• Promotes all club golf activities.
• Assists with maintaining a clean, orderly, and well-stocked golf shop.
• Assists with maintaining proper records and billing of storage and lockers for membership.
• Assists golf professionals during tournaments and weekly games.
• Monitors all members' scores, reports handicapping to the USGA, and bills members.
• Follows established opening and closing procedures.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older

Knowledge/Skill

• Must be motivated to thrive in the golf industry.
• Experienced in written and oral business communication.
• Experienced in computer use, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher. Proficient in other applications, including email, internet, and database management.
• Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.
• Self-motivated with a desire to promote and market.
• Service-and customer-focused attitude.
• Maintains and promotes a positive professional image within the community.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma required.
• Some college or a college degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Previous golf course or retail experience preferred.

Certificates/Licenses

• Valid driver's license required.
