Job summary

Altamira Club, part of Troon, in Homestead, FL, seeks a Golf Operations Manager to lead the entire golf operation and drive member engagement. You will plan events, manage the golf shop, and coordinate inter‑department communication to maintain service excellence.

The role requires PGA membership or Level II PGM, knowledge of POS and golf-specific software, and bilingual English/Spanish preference. A degree or equivalent experience is required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college, or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be PGA member or have completed Level II of the PGM program.
• Experience with computerized POS, Golf Genius, and tee time system.
• Bi-lingual preferred (English and Spanish).

Responsibilities

• Oversees golf operations including tournaments, rules, tee sheet activity, merchandise inventory, range operations, player service operations, and cart fleet.
• Assists in development and day-to-day tracking of the budget and business plan; helps control expenses in relation to revenues.
• Creates a member service-oriented atmosphere that promotes the game of golf and meets member needs; ensures associates provide high level of customer service.
• Works closely with club management on a daily basis to ensure timely communication and good working relationships.
• Prepares work schedules and assigns associates areas of responsibility.
• Performs payroll tasks and monitors hours to maximize productivity and minimize overtime.
• Provides leadership and vision to golf staff and prepares them for career advancement.
• Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, directing work, evaluating performance, and handling disciplinary actions.
• Ensures orientation and training for new associates; develops ongoing training programs.
• Monitors business volume forecast and plans accordingly in areas of workforce, productivity, costs and expenses.
• Responsible for implementing and maintaining excellent service to achieve member satisfaction.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as required.

$60,000 - $65,000 annually, based on experience.

Overview

The Golf Operations Manager will oversee the club’s entire golf operation to provide the highest standards of excellence for member engagement. Plans and coordinate a golf event season that the membership will respect and enjoy. Manages the golf shop retail operation. Ensures proper communication between departments and keeps the membership well informed.

• Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Ensure that effective orientation and training are given to each new associate. Develops ongoing training programs.
• Monitors business volume forecast and plans accordingly in areas of workforce, productivity, costs and other expenses.
• Responsible for implementing and maintaining excellent service to achieve member satisfaction.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as required.
