Altamira Club in Homestead, FL, is hiring a Full-Time Starter/Marshal. You will guide players to the first tee, manage pace of play, and assist guests with check-in while ensuring smooth operations on busy days.

Experience is welcome but not required; bilingual English/Spanish is preferred. Weekend and holiday availability is a plus, and healthcare, retirement, and PTO benefits accompany this hospitality role with Troon as the operator.

Qualifications

Compensation

$15.00 hourly

Overview

The Starter / Marshal will provide guest services by guiding players to the first tee at appropriate times and controlling a smooth pace of play on the golf course. Beginners are welcome – while knowledge of golf is preferred, previous Golf Course Starting experience is not required for the position. Ideal candidates have flexible schedules with availability to work weekends, holidays, and golf season, as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain professional appearance.
• Provides information regarding the golf course, play time and other golf related issues.
• Provides customer service for arriving guests to help expedite the check‐in process.
• Verifies that all revenues have been properly recorded by inspecting receipts for all players before they begin playing on the golf course.
• Keeps golf shop personnel informed regarding pace of play off the first tee.
• Supplies guests with scorecards, pencils and other items if needed.
• Advises guests of golf course conditions and expected pace of play.
• Implement and support all course policies and programs as communicated by management.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

• Must have a strong work ethic.
• Must have friendly personality and enjoy working with the public.
• Organized and able to work well in fast paced environment.
• Must have strong customer/guest orientation.
• Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be dependable.
• Knowledge about golf is preferred.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Bi-lingual preferred (English and Spanish).
