Job summary

Seabrook, WA is seeking a Part-Time on-site Superintendent-in-training to oversee early-stage construction, agronomic planning, and grow-in for a new coastal golf destination opening April 2028.

The role transitions to Full-Time Superintendent as the project progresses; responsibilities include contractor management, turf establishment, team building, safety, and strategic expansion for future courses. WA license required or obtain within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Degree or Certificate in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience as a Golf Course Superintendent or Senior Assistant Superintendent.
• Washington State Pesticide Applicator’s License (or able to obtain within 90 days).
• Direct experience in new golf course construction and grow-in phases (preferred).
• Heavy equipment operating experience; bilingual English/Spanish (bonus).

Responsibilities

• Construction & site oversight during clearing, shaping, and construction for opening.
• Contractor management during earthmoving, drainage, irrigation, and seed/sod work.
• Grow-in & turf establishment plan development and execution.
• Team building: recruit, hire, and train in-house maintenance crew as project progresses.
• Strategic expansion: lead planning for future offsite championship courses.
• Hands-on leadership & safety: promote PPE and safety and perform related tasks.
• Autonomous problem-solving: identify root causes and keep timelines.
