Job summary

Columbus Consolidated Government is seeking a qualified golf course maintenance supervisor to lead turf care and field operations at our municipal course. You will plan and oversee crew activities, manage irrigation and water systems, and ensure premier playing conditions while communicating with staff and customers.

Role requires knowledge of course grasses, pesticide regulations, and safety standards, with experience in supervising a crew and training personnel.

Qualifications

• Experience managing golf course turf and related maintenance.
• Knowledge of Ultra-dwarf bermudagrass and other grasses used on the course.
• Pesticide licensing or willingness to obtain certification.
• Understanding of irrigation, drainage, and water systems.
• Familiarity with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Ability to supervise, plan, and train crew members.
• Effective communication with staff and customers.

Responsibilities

• Maintain frequent communication with Director of Golf/Head Golf Pro and Course Superintendent.
• Supervise irrigation, drainage, and water-related systems on the course.
• Plan, schedule, instruct, train, and direct crew in maintenance tasks.
• Assume management responsibilities in Superintendent's absence.
• Ensure the course is maintained to high turf and playing conditions.
• Communicate with customers, staff, and management.
• Explain maintenance practices and turf care topics as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
