Job summary

Bestow is modernizing life insurance with a flexible remote/hybrid workforce. The role focuses on building scalable Go services for agent quoting, configuration, and submission tooling, while collaborating closely with App & Checkout teams to handle edge cases as volume grows.

You’ll work with distributed systems, REST/gRPC/OpenAPI, and AI-assisted coding tools to ship robust features; mentorship and architectural input are encouraged within a high-collaboration environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years professional backend software development experience.
• Professional experience with Go; comfortable owning services end to end.
• Experience with distributed systems or microservices, and API design (REST/gRPC/OpenAPI/Protobuf).
• Experience using Docker for local development and CI/CD as a default practice.
• Fluency using AI tools (Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT) in real engineering work.
• Able to contribute to architectural discussions and mentor teammates when needed.

Responsibilities

• Build and scale Go services powering agent quoting, configuration, submission tools.
• Collaborate with App & Checkout teams due to tight surface coupling.
• Handle partner-specific edge cases as distribution scales.
• Write unit and integration tests; peer review code from teammates.
• Leverage AI coding tools as part of daily workflow while applying technical judgment.
• Support knowledge transfer within a high-contractor team and document processes.
• Contribute to automation and CI/CD improvements across the team.
