Job summary

Prime Medicine, Inc. is seeking a Laboratory Operations Specialist to keep laboratory instruments calibrated, maintained, and inspection-ready.

You will coordinate qualified vendors, manage calibration records, and own Qualer and Elemental Machines systems for controlled storage units. The role reports to Laboratory Operations Lead and is half-time within Laboratory Operations, with a path to full-time responsibilities as the team expands.

Qualifications

• Associate's or bachelor’s degree in a life science or technical field, or equivalent hands-on laboratory experience.
• Experience maintaining equipment in a GMP-regulated laboratory.
• Working knowledge of calibration and asset management systems such as Qualer.
• Strong organizational skills and comfort managing multiple vendors and schedules at once.

Responsibilities

• Own the master service calendar for all laboratory instruments and equipment; schedule qualifications, PM, calibration, and repairs with vendors.
• Carry out equipment maintenance and calibration, via direct work or vendor technicians; ensure records meet SOPs and escalate deviations.
• Serve as the business owner of Qualer as the system of record for equipment and calibration; keep certificates and logs ready for inspection.
• Track calibration/maintenance status; tag out-of-service equipment; reconcile inventory with Qualer and review trends.
• Own Elemental Machines monitoring for temperature storage units; respond to alerts and investigate per procedure.
• Maintain vendor contacts, scopes of work, access requirements, and performance records; input into qualification/ vendor evaluation.
