Job summary

Insight Global in Raleigh-Durham, NC seeks a versatile Mechanical/Project Engineer to lead multidisciplinary projects across manufacturing equipment, clean utilities, and plant systems in a greenfield GMP facility.

You will coordinate across engineering, manufacturing, quality, automation, and vendors, with ownership from planning to turnover. The role demands a broad pharma/biopharma GMP background and comfort with evolving startup priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical, process, or industrial engineering.
• Experience in pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, life sciences, or GMP manufacturing environment.
• Experience managing engineering projects involving manufacturing equipment, utilities, facilities, or process systems.
• Prior experience supporting bioreactors, CIP systems, autoclaves, centrifuges or purified water systems.
• Broad understanding of mechanical, electrical, process, and utility systems in industrial manufacturing.
• Ability to review technical docs, drawings, equipment specs, and turnover information.
• Experience coordinating engineers, vendors, contractors, and cross-functional teams.
• Strong ownership, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Comfort working in a greenfield, startup, or rapidly changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects involving production equipment, process systems, utilities, and electrical systems.
• Coordinate activities across engineering, manufacturing, maintenance, quality, automation, and vendors.
• Review equipment documentation, specs, and system turnover information.
• Identify gaps, risks, and readiness issues and drive resolution paths.
• Participate in equipment installation, startup, testing, turnover, and readiness activities.
• Develop project plans, priorities, resources, and track work to completion.
• Coordinate technical decisions across multiple engineering disciplines.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, safety, and site standards.
