Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking an energetic Laboratory Technician to support GMP manufacturing operations in Gaithersburg, MD. The role involves performing routine experiments, preparing reagents, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe, compliant working environment.

Responsibilities include sample prep, SOP adherence, equipment calibration, data recording, and collaboration with the team. Requirements: 0–2 years in a regulated lab, GMP/GLP awareness, wet-lab skills, and a life-science degree.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years in a regulated laboratory environment (GMP, BSL2-4)
• Knowledge of GMP and GLP regulations
• Wet-lab techniques including pipetting, buffer/solution prep, and basic analytical methods
• Experience with calibration of laboratory equipment
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Responsibilities

• Perform routine laboratory procedures such as sample preparation, pipetting, solution/reagent preparation, and basic analytical techniques
• Conduct experiments following SOPs, protocols, and quality standards
• Operate, clean, and maintain laboratory equipment (balances, pH meters, centrifuges, incubators)
• Support equipment calibration, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Maintain accurate documentation in lab notebooks or electronic systems
• Participate in general lab upkeep, organization, and cleanliness
