Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking a Manufacturing Associate to join a large pharma/biotechnology organization. This is a full-time, on-site role in Gaithersburg, MD.

The position involves operating biopharmaceutical manufacturing equipment, maintaining cGMP records, and performing culture operations including biosafety cabinet work, bioreactor operations, aseptic technique, and harvest. A B.S. in biology/biotech/biochemistry and 1–4+ years in regulated manufacturing are required.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or related scientific field
• 1-4+ years of experience in regulated manufacturing upstream or downstream
• Basic knowledge of cell culture operations, including Biosafety Cabinet Operation, Bioreactor Operations, aseptic technique, and harvest
• Basic knowledge of chromatography, filtration, and basic analytical testing (e.g., Protein concentration, osmolarity, pH)

Responsibilities

• Operates bio-pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment such as incubators, bioreactors, filtration and chromatography skids, and single-use mixers
• Records manufacturing activities in cGMP compliant documents
• Performs culture operations including Biosafety Cabinet Operation, Bioreactor Operations, aseptic technique, and harvest
• Performs chromatography, filtration, and basic analytical testing and raw material weigh-out
