Job summary
Piper Companies is seeking a Medical Technologist for an onsite role in Gaithersburg, MD to support a leading nonclinical research organization focused on drug development and animal studies.
The candidate will operate instruments, perform clinical pathology tests, and handle manual microscopy with GLP-compliant documentation. ASCP certification and ADVIA 2120 experience are highly valued.
Qualifications
- Bachelors in a scientific discipline is preferred.
- ASCP certification or equivalent is preferred.
- Experience in clinical chemistry, hematology, coagulation, and urinalysis.
- Experience reading blood smears and manual microscopy.
- Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation and troubleshooting.
- GLP knowledge is preferred.
- Experience with ADVIA 2120 instrumental systems is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Operate lab instrumentation to analyze samples from research animals.
- Perform clinical pathology testing including chemistry, hematology, coagulation and urinalysis.
- Conduct manual testing such as blood smears and microscopy reviews.
- Perform routine QC and maintenance on instruments per SOPs.
- Review data for accuracy and troubleshoot instrument concerns.
- Document observations and results per GLP and study protocols.
- Collaborate with Study Directors and staff on ongoing research studies.
