Job summary

Baton Rouge General Medical Center is seeking a meticulous Medical Education & GME Coordinator to support physician education, residency programs, and medical student clerkships in our GME department.

The role coordinates visiting residents and rotators, backs up residency coordinators, and collaborates with HMG to support IM/FM faculty who train learners. Strong organizational, HIPAA-safe skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of administrative experience required.
• Experience in a medical education, GME, or academic healthcare environment is strongly preferred.
• College-level business coursework or equivalent associate/bachelor's degree preferred.
• Familiarity with residency management platforms (MedHub, New Innovations, QGenda)
• Knowledge of ERAS and ACGME WebADS is highly desirable.
• Strong organizational, scheduling, database management, and credentialing verification skills.
• Discretion with highly sensitive, confidential, HIPAA-regulated information.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for outside residents and fellows requesting elective rotations.
• Coordinate and track institutional affiliation agreements.
• Manage onboarding clearances for visiting trainees and ensure EMR training and access.
• Coordinate undergraduate medical student rotations and clerkships with affiliated medical schools.
• Assist with residency recruitment operations and scheduling of interview days.
• Support CME offerings and accreditation-related data collection and reporting.
