Job summary

University of Minnesota’s Office of Graduate Medical Education seeks a GME Human Resources Administrator to drive administrative excellence across the department's HR ecosystem, coordinating labor relations, leave, performance, and visa processes in a dynamic academic medicine environment.

You will partner with the Sr. HRBP, support program directors, and deliver proactive operational leadership, developing tools and standard procedures to ensure compliance and efficient workflows.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in HR, business admin, or related field with at least 2 years HR admin or generalist experience to reach six years total.
• Experience working with labor-represented employee groups.
• Proficiency with tracking tools and office software (Smartsheet, Excel, Google Workspace).

Responsibilities

• Serve as first-level HR resource to GME Program Directors on labor agreements and HR policies.
• Review routine labor/employee relations matters and advise next steps.
• Manage operational administration of collective bargaining provisions, tracking deadlines and compliance.
• Provide consultation regarding routine employee relations, escalate when needed.
• Support investigations and grievance processes by gathering records and timelines.
• Develop tools and procedures to standardize labor agreements application.
• Administer trainee performance management, leave processes, and related documentation.
• Oversee HR projects including onboarding/offboarding for trainees.
• Prepare reports and HR resources for consistent practices across GME programs.
