GM Energy - Utility Business Development Manager

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as a Utility Market Manager. This role involves supporting the Utility team by engaging with key utilities and energy market stakeholders to promote GM Energy's products and services, including Home Energy V2X and energy storage solutions. The position requires collaboration across various internal teams to drive sales, ensure product inclusion on utility and regulatory lists, and stay ahead of market trends.

Location & Work Arrangement

This is a remote position, with the employee working off-site primarily. The candidate must be located in one of the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, Oregon, or Washington.

Responsibilities
  1. Engage with utilities and energy stakeholders to build relationships and promote GM Energy products.
  2. Collaborate with sales, regulatory, and internal teams to include GM Energy products on approved lists for sales facilitation.
  3. Drive new sales opportunities with utilities and promote EV charging and energy storage products.
  4. Monitor and influence utility and market program requirements to ensure product eligibility for rebates and incentives.
  5. Maintain updated tools with utility incentives and rebates information to support sales efforts.
  6. Research market trends to identify new opportunities for product sales.
  7. Support market and regulatory analysis to broaden customer access to GM Energy solutions.
  8. Track and communicate team progress on utility-related KPIs and KSIs.
  9. Organize and socialize program recommendations to improve product offerings.
  10. Create educational materials on utility programs and incentives for internal teams.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in electric vehicle charging, energy management, or related fields.
  • Proven experience in external outreach within the renewable energy sector.
  • Strong knowledge of energy markets, utility programs, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Research and analytical skills to assess market opportunities.
  • Project management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Knowledge of EV charging technology, energy resources, and renewable technologies is preferred.
  • Familiarity with utility processes and regulatory compliance is highly desirable.
Additional Information

Compensation ranges from $89,700 to $143,300, based on experience and location. Benefits include health coverage, 401K, tuition assistance, vehicle discounts, and more. GM does not sponsor immigration for this role, and relocation benefits are not provided.
