Meijer is seeking a General Merchandise Dept Manager in the Commerce, MI area to lead store teams, drive staffing and development, and ensure operational excellence. You will coach Leads and Team Members, manage performance, and execute plans to optimize sales and store productivity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with team members to provide clear direction.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information to make informed decisions.
• Commitment to safe operations and working practices.
• Understanding of seasonal and diverse merchandising to meet customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Engages with team members to ensure onboarding, training, development, and coaching for success.
• Identify talent and support staffing to maintain a diverse leadership pipeline.
• Hold candid discussions to uphold Meijer standards and growth opportunities.
• Oversee area operations and financial results by executing corporate plans and managing a P&L budget.
• Drive safety, compliance, and store condition management; follow procedures.
• Guide leads and assigns daily work and training when needed.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
