Job summary

Smurfit Westrock Company in Richmond, Virginia is seeking an experienced Gluing Operator to lead the day-to-day operation of the finishing line, set up gluing machinery, and ensure finished cartons meet quality, productivity and safety targets.

You will work as part of a collaborative production team, receive full training, and contribute to the successful conversion of printed cartons into premium packaging products.

Qualifications

• Experience operating gluing machines is desirable.
• Manufacturing or production environment experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Set up and prepare gluing machinery to required production standards (make-ready).
• Operate gluing equipment to meet quality, productivity and efficiency targets.
• Monitor machine performance for continuous operation.
• Conduct quality inspections to ensure specifications and customer requirements.
• Complete routine maintenance as per Daily Equipment Care.
• Review production schedules to ensure timely preparation activities.
• Coordinate with offsiders to ensure materials and tools are ready.
• Assist with training and cross-skilling team members.
• Identify and troubleshoot issues to minimise downtime.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised work environment.
