Job summary

Carta’s People Systems Team is seeking a Workday Payroll/HCM Manager to lead global payroll configuration across the US, EMEA, and LATAM, ensuring pay accuracy, compliance, and scalable integration with Core HCM, Time Tracking, Absence, and Benefits.

You’ll own the Payroll module configuration, drive testing and releases, collaborate with People partners, and govern documentation while guiding cross-functional partners through testing and deployment.

Qualifications

• 6-8+ years of hands-on Workday Payroll configuration experience.
• Strong background in Core HCM: orgs, staffing, business process configuration.
• Solid understanding of payroll fundamentals: earnings, deductions, tax setup, pay calculations.
• Experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business needs into system configuration.
• Comfortable managing configuration changes through testing, validation, and release cycles.
• Strong attention to detail and a compliance-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Own Payroll Configuration: lead configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Workday Payroll.
• Build scalable integration with Core HCM, Time Tracking, Absence, Compensation, and Benefits.
• Own the stakeholder relationship between Payroll and People teams.
• Anchor in Core HCM to align payroll decisions with the broader foundation.
• Drive payroll-impact analysis, regression testing, and validation for Workday releases.
• Troubleshoot and resolve payroll configuration issues with Payroll Ops.
• Document and govern configuration to keep audits clean and handoffs clear.
