Job summary

Carta is seeking a Workday Payroll Configuration expert to own global payroll setup and compliance. You will drive configurations for the Payroll module across US regions, integrate with Core HCM, Time Tracking, and Benefits, and partner with People teams to translate requirements into scalable Workday settings.

Ideal candidates will have 6–8+ years of hands-on experience, strong Core HCM knowledge, and a detail-oriented, compliance-focused mindset.

Qualifications

6-8+ years of hands-on Workday Payroll configuration experience.
Strong Core HCM knowledge: organizations, staffing, and business processes.
Solid payroll fundamentals: earnings, deductions, tax setup, and pay calculation.
Experience translating business needs into system configurations with HR/People teams.
Ability to manage configuration changes through testing, validation, and releases.
Detail-oriented with a compliance-first mindset.

Responsibilities

Own payroll configuration in Workday, ensuring accuracy and compliance across pay cycles.
Design scalable integration between Payroll and Core HCM, Time Tracking, Absence, and Benefits.
Serve as liaison between Payroll and People teams; translate business needs into configuration.
Maintain Core HCM knowledge to align payroll decisions with organizational structure.
Lead testing, validation, and releases for Workday updates.
Troubleshoot payroll configuration issues and drive fixes.
