Job summary

Vontier’s Convenience Retail division seeks a Vice President of Software Engineering to lead the global engineering organization responsible for retail solutions, spanning cloud IoT, on-prem devices, POS microservices, Cloud SaaS, telemetry, asset management, and analytics tailored to retail needs.

This US-based role reports to the CTO and requires building a scalable, secure, and innovative tech roadmap, managing 100–250+ engineers across multiple regions, and partnering with senior leadership

Qualifications

• 10+ years in a leadership role within the retail solutions sector or a tech company.
• Deep knowledge of modern cloud systems and industry providers.
• Executive presence with a track record of engaging with large customers and peers.
• Exceptional communication skills and executive-level presentations.
• Experience managing large engineering teams (100-250+).
• History of developing large-scale solutions including next-gen POS, IoT and cloud-based systems.
• Understanding of industry security standards and PCI certifications.
• Expertise in cloud-native software development and modern architectures.
• Familiarity with frontend, backend, cloud and database technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead a global engineering team across US, Argentina, Europe and India.
• Oversee a significant business portfolio with global operations.
• Craft and execute a cohesive technology vision and architectural roadmap.
• Collaborate with the CTO and other executives to drive the Retail Technology vision.
