Job Title: Vice President of Field and Technical Services
We are currently working with a high-growth organization in the transmission construction space. In this global role, the Vice President of Field and Technical Services will lead the strategic direction and execution of field services, ensuring high-quality installation and maintenance outcomes for both installers and end-users. This role is critical in driving customer satisfaction, optimizing service operations, and ensuring the reliability and efficiency of the company's products.
This individual will work closely with Business Development, Engineering, and Application Engineering teams to enhance service offerings, improve product performance in the field, and support long-term business growth. The VP will oversee a team of field service professionals, technical support personnel, and training specialists, ensuring that best-in-class service and support are provided to customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the company's field service and technical support strategy to ensure industry-leading installation and maintenance performance.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing field service team, ensuring they have the necessary skills, tools, and training.
- Establish KPIs and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement in service quality and operational efficiency.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with utility customers, EPC firms, and installation contractors in the T&D space.
- Oversee the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of products in the field, ensuring seamless execution.
- Provide technical leadership to both internal teams and external customers, ensuring products are deployed and maintained according to industry best practices.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Application Engineering teams to provide feedback from the field, driving product improvements and innovation.
- Establish and oversee remote and on-site troubleshooting and support services to quickly resolve customer issues.
- Ensure compliance with all industry standards, safety regulations, and company quality guidelines.
- Partner with Business Development and Sales to support pre-sales efforts, customer presentations, and technical demonstrations.
- Work closely with key customers to understand their needs and pain points, shaping field services offerings accordingly.
- Drive customer training programs to ensure installers, maintenance teams, and end-users are well-equipped to handle the company's products effectively.
- Develop and oversee a comprehensive service and support model, including service contracts and aftermarket support.
- Implement best practices in service logistics, workforce planning, and field operations to improve response times and efficiency.
- Lead efforts to reduce installation and maintenance costs while improving service quality and reliability.
- Ensure field service operations are aligned with broader company goals, financial targets, and customer satisfaction objectives.
Qualifications & Experience
10+ years of experience in field services, technical support, or operations within the Transmission & Distribution, Power, or Electrical Equipment industry.
Prior experience leading a technical services division for a T&D equipment manufacturer, utility, or EPC firm.
