Director of Engineering - Substation & Transmission Line

As Director of Engineering, you will lead the strategic development of our engineering division, shaping the design standards and execution of complex power delivery projects. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, specification, and technical review of engineering documents for substations, transmission and distribution lines, and energy storage facilities.
• Develop and implement engineering best practices and standardized processes aligned with industry codes and organizational goals.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, environmental standards, and utility requirements.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with project management, estimating, procurement, and business development teams to align engineering efforts with strategic objectives.
• Provide technical oversight, risk assessment, and resolution strategies across all phases of project execution.
• Forecast engineering resource needs and manage departmental operations to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
• Contribute to strategic planning and annual business development initiatives.
• Represent the company in technical forums, industry associations, and regulatory discussions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline (Master's preferred).
• Minimum 12 years of engineering experience, with at least 8 years focused on power delivery systems.
• Expertise in substation design, transmission and distribution systems, and utility-scale energy infrastructure.
• Proven ability to balance technical rigor, cost efficiency, and schedule demands.
• Experience working directly with utilities and regulatory bodies.
• Familiarity with renewable energy integration and energy storage technologies is a plus.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred.
