Job summary

Northeastern University’s Leadership Relations Team is seeking a proactive professional to grow and activate the Global Volunteer Network, including volunteers, ambassadors, and leadership constituents across the globe. You’ll drive engagement and connect volunteers with campus partners to advance university priorities.

You will manage programs, lead communications, and coordinate signature events while mentoring a small team on the Boston campus. This role is anchored in in-person collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5–7 years in alumni relations or related field.
• Experience recruiting, onboarding, or managing volunteer networks.
• Event planning experience and ability to manage multiple projects independently.
• Strong interpersonal skills and diplomacy with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience partnering across departments to build referral pipelines.
• Strong written and oral communication; proficient with virtual platforms.
• Self-starter, adaptable to fast-paced, international contexts.
• Supervising staff and student employees.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and diversify volunteers across global networks and match to roles.
• Foster connections among volunteers, students, alumni, and leaders.
• Partner with campus stakeholders to expand the network's reach.
• Cultivate volunteers with personalized programs aligned to philanthropy goals.
• Manage donor appeal projects and global giving campaigns.
• Lead launch of Global Giving campaigns across networks.
• Develop strategic communications for all volunteer programs.
• Oversee signature sessions and manage a portfolio of volunteer communities.
• Mentor and manage staff and student workers.
