Job summary

Salute is seeking a Data Center Travel Technician to support client locations across the United States. The role involves installing racks, updating cable management and asset records, and coordinating with multiple teams to meet project timelines.

The position requires willingness to travel long periods and maintaining strict data center standards. The ideal candidate will have experience with servers, storage, networking hardware, and asset management systems, and must be able to manage

Qualifications

• Experience in Data Centers and co-location environments managing hardware assets.
• Willingness to travel for long periods of time.
• Demonstrated project management experience with tight deadlines.
• Experience with a variety of vendor hardware: servers, storage, network equipment.
• Experience in contributing to detailed project plans for cross functional teams and challenging requirements.
• Experience with Asset Management Systems.
• Experience in managing inventory of cable, power cords and other infrastructure items.

Responsibilities

• Conduct day-to-day operations for the Data Center.
• Travel to contracted areas to install racks and enclosures.
• Update cable management systems as changes are made to the DC cable plant.
• Update asset management systems as equipment is added/removed.
• Execute tasks for each project and work with all teams to meet timelines.
• Communicate project status updates to all teams and stakeholders.
• Assist capacity planning for space, power, data communications, and cooling.
• Coordinate delivery and shipping of all equipment.
• Install and test copper/fiber cable from Demarcation to Data Center Whitespace.
• Panel installations, cabling, and proper device connections.
• Ensure safety and cleanliness of data center rooms.
