Job summary

Gexpro Services is seeking a Vertical Sourcing Leader – Transportation to develop and execute the commodity strategy across Hardware, Machined and Fabricated Components, Mechanical and Electrical categories globally. You will collaborate with Sourcing Management, Commodity Leaders, Supplier Development and Buyers regionally to drive revenue, profitability, risk mitigation, and supplier development.

Lead the transportation spend (~$30MM annually), push cost reductions through best cost country

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience in sourcing, supply chain or procurement.
• Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university or equivalent work experience.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities; interpersonal skills.
• Proficient PC skills including Word and Excel; effective email/phone/web presentations.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
• Experience negotiating supplier agreements and managing contract costs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the Transportation commodity strategy, ~30MM annual volume.
• Drive sourcing initiatives including cost reduction via best cost country and supplier rationalization, single source reduction, on-time delivery and quality improvements.
• Build strategic supplier relationships to meet cost-out targets and localization requirements.
• Improve trade working capital and free cash flow through inventory optimization and extended payment terms.
• Collaborate with DSG Business Units and Acquisitions to leverage total spend.
• Support New Program Implementation, collaborating on supplier selection and program impact.
• Partner with Technical Sales Engineers to reduce product cost through redesign or alternate sourcing.
• Resolve fulfillment, cost or quality escalations with Purchasing.
• Manage complex supplier contracts and strategic relationships.
• Analyze market conditions and communicate impact to procurement and field teams.
• Conduct site visits and supplier capability overviews.
