Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a Global Transportation Program Sr. Manager based in San Francisco to own the strategy, expansion, and day-to-day performance of employee transportation programs across our global offices.

You will build scalable operating models, establish vendor partnerships, and implement repeatable processes that serve new markets while balancing local needs and global consistency. The role requires up to 10% travel and in‑person work Monday through Wednesday, with an option to work from

Qualifications

• Experience building and scaling employee transportation programs across multiple countries during significant growth.
• Hands-on experience with shuttles, parking, micromobility, and transit or commuter benefits.
• Ability to translate expansion needs into practical plans, budgets, and standards.
• Experience managing complex vendor relationships, service levels, budgets, and procurement.
• Data-driven decision making to evaluate demand, utilization, and cost.

Responsibilities

• Own a global transportation expansion roadmap aligned with office openings, headcount growth, and changing commute demand.
• Manage the global employee transportation portfolio across shuttles, parking, micromobility, transit and commuter benefits, and EV charging.
• Build a scalable operating model across regions with launch playbooks, clear ownership, vendor standards, and reporting.
• Manage transportation vendors from sourcing through service reviews and transitions, in collaboration with Legal on terms.
• Own program budgets, forecasts, invoice reviews, and business cases; use data to guide investments.
• Partner with Workplace Operations, Real Estate, Facilities, Corporate Security, People/Benefits, Payroll, Finance, Legal, IT, and Internal Comms.
• Design and administer transit benefits, parking eligibility, subsidies, and reimbursement policies by market.
• Establish service levels, incident escalation, backup plans, and outage communications for disruptions.
• Improve end-to-end employee journey from discovery to feedback with clear processes and vendor coordination.
• Measure reliability, adoption, utilization, satisfaction, accessibility, and cost; propose improvements to leadership.
