Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking an experienced Empowered Official to lead the Global Trade team, ensuring ITAR/EAR compliance and effective licensing. The role supports the Advanced Weapons Business Unit from Mesa, AZ, with travel up to 10% as needed. Strong leadership and regulatory expertise are essential.

The position requires deep knowledge of U.S. export regulations, a collaborative approach with internal stakeholders, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining compliance

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 12+ years international trade compliance experience.
• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years international trade compliance experience.
• Master’s degree with 6+ years international trade compliance experience.
• Proficiency in ITAR and EAR, including jurisdiction and classification determinations.
• Experience applying U.S. Government regulatory requirements in complex scenarios.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience leading and managing a team.
• Ability to travel up to 10% (domestic/international).

Responsibilities

• Manages a team of Global Trade professionals.
• Serves as Empowered Official for ITAR/EAR compliance, license processing, and exemptions.
• Prepares export authorization packages when required.
• Drives accountability via metrics and evaluations.
• Advises on compliance requirements and training strategies.
• Maintains trade compliance records per regulations.
• Collaborates with Law Dept on disclosures and corrective actions.
• Engages with Business Development, Contracts, Global Supply Chain, and Programs.
