Job summary

Our client, a leading international law firm in Washington, DC, seeks an Associate Attorney for its International Trade Practice Group. Hybrid work arrangement with opportunities to handle complex U.S. trade and regulatory matters for domestic and international clients.

The ideal candidate holds a JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record, DC bar admission, and 2-4 years of substantive international trade experience. Large-firm background preferred.

Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with excellent academic record.
• Active Bar Admission in Washington, DC, in good standing.
• 2-4 years of substantive international trade experience.
• Experience counseling clients on U.S. international trade regulatory issues.
• Experience with trade remedy matters (AD/CVD).
• Litigation experience before U.S. trade agencies and the U.S. Court of International Trade.
• Experience advising on economic sanctions (OFAC) and EAR/BIS matters.
• Strong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Collaborative team player in a large law firm environment.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on international trade and regulatory compliance matters.
• Counsel clients on U.S. trade remedy laws including AD/CVD proceedings.
• Represent clients before government agencies and the U.S. Court of International Trade.
• Provide strategic guidance on economic sanctions, export controls, and cross-border requirements.
• Develop compliance programs related to international trade regulations.
• Monitor trade policy developments affecting clients.
