Job summary

International Trade Practice Group at a leading international law firm in Washington, DC seeks an Associate Attorney to join its team. You will advise on complex international trade and regulatory issues, including sanctions, export controls, and remedy proceedings, with opportunities for growth in a sophisticated cross-border practice.

The role requires DC bar admission and 2–4 years of related experience, with a collaborative, high-performance culture and direct client interaction.

Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record.
• Active Bar Admission in Washington, DC, in good standing.
• 2-4 years of substantive international trade experience.
• Experience counseling clients on U.S. international trade regulatory issues.
• Experience with trade remedy matters (AD/CVD).
• Experience litigating before U.S. trade agencies and the U.S. Court of International Trade.
• Experience advising on economic sanctions (OFAC).
• Experience with EAR export controls (BIS).
• Strong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
• Large law firm experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on a wide range of international trade and regulatory compliance matters.
• Counsel clients regarding U.S. trade remedy laws, including AD/CVD proceedings.
• Represent clients before government agencies and the U.S. Court of International Trade.
• Provide strategic advice on U.S. economic sanctions, export controls, and cross-border requirements.
• Conduct regulatory analyses and assist in developing compliance programs.
• Monitor developments in trade policy, sanctions, and export control regimes.
• Collaborate with attorneys across practice areas on complex matters.
