Job summary

Formlabs is seeking a Head of Technical Operations to lead our global IT infrastructure and security program. You will oversee network, systems, help desk, and cybersecurity, ensuring reliable service for ~800 employees across multiple sites, including Somerville. The role is onsite in Somerville, MA and reports to the CIO.

You will drive strategy, automation, and vendor relations, while balancing risk, cost, and user experience. Strong leadership and governance experience are essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in IT infrastructure and/or security, with 2+ years of people leadership.
• Experience leading teams across network, systems, and security.
• Familiarity with IT controls, risk management, and audit-ready environments.
• Ability to translate technical risk into business decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead a global 7-person team across network, systems, help desk, and cybersecurity.
• Own on-premises compute (Proxmox) and determine what stays on-prem vs moves to cloud/SaaS.
• Define an integrated infrastructure and security roadmap balancing reliability, risk, and cost.
• Manage Cisco Meraki estate, SD-WAN, VPN, firewalls, and connectivity across sites.
• Oversee cybersecurity program including policy, vulnerabilities, EDR, and incident response.
• Partner with vendors, set SLAs, and optimize budget and licensing.
• Ensure onboarding/offboarding, access controls, and admin hygiene across SaaS apps.
