Job summary

Fourth Floor in New York is seeking a Technical Design Manager to lead the technical design and development of children’s apparel across global teams.

You will drive cross-functional alignment from concept through production, implement SOPs, and push for product integrity, quality, and safety.

The role requires a deep knowledge of fit, grading, textiles, and 3D patternmaking, with travel to regional sourcing offices or factories as needed.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Technical Design experience within kids apparel.
• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Textile Engineering or equivalent.
• Expertise in Children's and Baby clothing, including fit, grading, and product integrity and safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design & development across global teams.
• Drive cross-functional alignment to ensure product integrity from concept through production.
• Lead innovation and develop solutions to resolve challenges within complex product development cycles.
• Manage the rollout of new programs and retail partnerships, ensuring smooth integration into existing workflows.
• Establish and implement SOPs and best practices across teams.
• Lead process and system improvements that enhance efficiency.
• Proactively identify and resolve issues in fit, fabric, and construction.
• Evaluate textiles for performance and quality, while anticipating and resolving potential garment challenges.
• Manage fittings, approvals, and overall quality standards.
