Job summary

Sweet Apparel Inc. is seeking a Technical Designer to join the Childrenswear team on-site at our Midtown Manhattan office. You will work across girls and boys categories (2T–16), manage fit, create tech packs, and ensure production-grade quality.

Ideal candidates have a degree in Technical Design or Fashion Design with 5+ years in technical design, strong PLM/Excel skills, and knowledge of sewing construction. This role offers a fast-paced environment with collaborative cross-functional teamwork.

Qualifications

• Degree in Technical Design or Fashion Design.
• 5+ years experience in Technical Design.
• Knowledge of sewing construction, patternmaking, garment manufacturing, and fabrics.
• Proficient in PLM and Excel.
• Knowledge of Clo3D is helpful.
• Attention to detail, sense of urgency, willingness to learn, team-player.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Work with multiple product categories for Girls and Boys divisions (2T–16).
• Accurately measure Fit/PP/TOP samples and attend fit sessions.
• Identify and address fit/construction/workmanship issues with factories.
• Create initial tech packs for costing and fit submission.
• Ensure corrections are made at pre-production samples.
• Collaborate with private label accounts to achieve desired fit.
• Maintain sample library and track status; build cross-functional relationships.
