Job summary

AXS, a global live events platform based in Downtown Los Angeles, seeks a Senior Vice President of Data Engineering, Data Science & Analytics to unify data, models, and insights across personalization, pricing, fraud prevention, and forecasting. This role leads the global data organization and reports to the CTO.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in high-growth technology, including 8+ years leading data organizations spanning data engineering, data science, and/or analytics at scale.
• Experience building high-volume data platforms and production ML systems supporting consumer-facing, e-commerce, or transactional businesses.
• Strategic track record delivering data and AI roadmaps, managing initiatives end-to-end, and scaling multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong background with modern data stacks — data warehousing, orchestration, streaming, and cloud platforms (AWS).

Responsibilities

• Define enterprise data, analytics, and AI strategy with executive leadership.
• Own an integrated roadmap across data platforms, data science, and analytics.
• Oversee scalable batch and real-time data pipelines and data lake/warehouse evolution.
• Lead the data science function in developing and deploying ML/AI models with mature MLOps.
• Build analytics functions, KPI frameworks, and self-service BI for decision-making.
• Establish data governance, quality, lineage, privacy, and compliant AI standards.
• Build and empower a global, high-performance data organization.
• Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Finance, and Operations to embed data into products and processes.
• Drive operational excellence to increase reliability and reduce data downtime.
• Communicate strategy and impact to CTO, executives, and the board.
• Manage budgets, headcount, and vendor spend.
