Job summary

Jobtailor is offering a Future Talent Program in New Jersey for a cooperative education internship spanning 5-6 months. You will work on market intelligence, supplier analyses, and cost-reduction projects while learning to prepare negotiations and execute RFIs, RFPs, and e-auctions.

You will develop skills in data collection, analysis, and reporting, using Power BI/Qlik and SAP, with cross-functional collaboration across Legal, Finance, and Procurement teams.

Qualifications

  • Currently in sophomore or junior level curriculum pursuing a Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, Market Research, Communications, a Science-related discipline, or MBA program
  • Strong data collection, analysis and reporting skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Ability to work independently in ambiguous/dynamic situations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Preferred: Two or more internships or co-ops
  • Preferred: Experience with Power BI, Qlik or other data analytics/visualization tools

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the Future Talent Program Cooperative education program for 5-6 months, completing one or more projects
  • Gather market intelligence and conduct strategic supplier and supply market analyses
  • Prepare pre-negotiation plans and support supplier negotiation sessions and post-negotiation follow-through
  • Create and execute RFIs, RFPs, and e-auctions
  • Conduct quotation analysis, cost modeling, purchase price analysis, and cost reduction initiatives
  • Perform financial solvency analysis, risk assessments, FCPA verification, compliance and due diligence assessments
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues
  • Support budget planning and report spend, savings, compliance, and other metrics
  • Support procurement strategies, sourcing, supply risk management, supplier performance improvement, supplier diversity, working capital improvement, and supplier relationship management
  • Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Procure-to-Pay, internal stakeholders, and external suppliers
  • Select suppliers, ensure savings and service levels, meet legal contract requirements, and manage external relationships
  • Maintain financial reporting and management systems, including SAP
  • Participate in category teams and develop breakthrough strategies delivering cost reduction targets
  • Share high-quality work and learnings with colleagues throughout the Global Supplier Management Group

Job description

Requirements
  • Currently in sophomore or junior level curriculum, pursuing a Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, Market Research, Communications, a Science-related discipline, or currently enrolled in an MBA program
  • Superior interpersonal skills and ability to work successfully on cross-functional teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including clear and concise presentations
  • Sensitivity to cultural differences in communication
  • Experience with SharePoint and Enterprise social media, specifically Yammer
  • Familiarity with business communication, marketing and/or journalism principles
  • Strong data collection, analysis and reporting skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Ability to work independently with flexibility and adaptability in ambiguous and dynamic situations
  • Motivation to cultivate technical, business and commercial skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Demonstrated excellent academic achievement
  • Preferred: GPA 3.0
  • Preferred: Prior pharmaceutical industry or Fortune 500 company experience
  • Preferred: Two or more internships or co-ops
  • Preferred: Experience with MS Teams, SharePoint or similar collaboration websites
  • Preferred: Experience with Power BI, Qlik or other data analytics/visualization tools
  • Preferred: Experience using Excel to manage large data sets
  • Preferred: Ability to communicate information in presentations
  • Preferred: Knowledge of data collection methods such as polls, focus groups, and surveys
