Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support R&D Sourcing & Procurement activities within Global Supplier Management.
• Prepare market intelligence gathering and strategic analysis.
• Assist in RFIs, RFPs, e-auctions, cost modeling, and pre-negotiation planning.
• Monitor supplier performance and support issue resolution.
• Assist in budget planning and spend/savings reporting.
• Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Procure-to-Pay, and external suppliers.
• Conduct supplier risk assessments and compliance reviews.
• Create pre-negotiation plans and participate in negotiations.
• Draft articles, blogs, and newsletters for internal communications.

Job description

• Support Research and Development Sourcing & Procurement activities within the Global Supplier Management Group
• Prepare and conduct market intelligence gathering and strategic analysis
• Support pre-negotiation planning, RFIs, RFPs/Qs, e-auctions, quotation analysis, and cost modeling
• Conduct financial solvency analysis, risk assessments, FCPA verification, and compliance/due diligence assessments
• Monitor supplier performance and support issue resolution
• Support budget planning and ongoing spend, savings, and compliance metrics reporting
• Support product sourcing, supply risk management, supplier performance improvement, cost reduction, supplier diversity, working capital improvement, and supplier relationship management
• Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Procure-to-Pay, internal stakeholders, and external suppliers
• Conduct detailed market, supplier, and supply market analyses
• Construct cost models and purchase price analyses; support cost reduction opportunities
• Conduct supplier performance monitoring, root cause investigation, issue management, risk assessment, and mitigation
• Prepare monthly financial analysis and reporting and support annual budget/profit planning
• Maintain financial reporting and management systems, including SAP
• Create pre-negotiation plans, participate in supplier negotiations, and conduct post-negotiation follow-through
• Create and execute RFIs, RFPs, and e-auctions using electronic procurement processes
• Conduct risk assessments involving financial solvency, FCPA, and Business Partner Code of Conduct compliance
• Participate in category teams and contribute to cost-reduction strategies
• Share learnings with colleagues throughout the Global Supplier Management Group
• Draft and edit articles, blogs, newsletters, and slides; identify communications opportunities and process improvements

Requirements

• Currently in sophomore or junior level curriculum, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, Market Research, Communications or a Science-related discipline; or currently enrolled in an MBA program or other graduate program
• Superior interpersonal skills and ability to work successfully on cross-functional teams
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to make clear and concise presentations
• Experience with SharePoint and Enterprise Social Media, specifically Yammer
• Familiarity with business communication, marketing and/or journalism principles
• Strong data collection, analysis and reporting skills
• Excellent project management skills
• Ability to work independently with flexibility and adaptability in ambiguous and dynamic situations
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Demonstrated excellent academic achievement
• Focus on process improvements and simplification
• GPA 3.0 preferred
• Prior pharmaceutical industry or Fortune 500 company experience preferred
• Experience with SharePoint or similar collaboration websites preferred
• Experience with TIBCO Spotfire or other data analytic/visualization tools preferred
• Experience using Excel to manage large data sets preferred
• Knowledge of data collection methods such as polls, focus groups, and surveys preferred
