Job summary

MATSYS Inc. is seeking a Procurement Specialist to own day-to-day sourcing across direct and indirect categories, from metal powders to equipment, MRO, and services.

You will run competitive sourcing globally, vet suppliers, negotiate terms, and place purchase orders to keep material flowing amid long lead times. The role requires FAR/DFARS familiarity, strong Excel/data analysis, supplier risk assessment, and collaboration with Finance, Legal, and Quality to manage contracts and NDAs in a

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, operations, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of procurement, strategic sourcing, purchasing, or supply chain experience.
• Working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and other procurement regulations, or ability to learn quickly.

Responsibilities

• Strategic sourcing (global): Run competitive sourcing events, issue RFQs/RFIs, compare pricing and lead times, and recommend award decisions.
• Supplier vetting & qualification: Onboard new suppliers, verify capabilities, certifications, and source origin.
• Negotiation: Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, MOQs, freight terms, and service levels.
• Purchase execution: Convert requests into purchase orders per policy; manage changes and expediting.
• Managing long lead times: Plan orders around long lead times; track POs and communicate delivery risk.
• Supplier risk assessment: Assess supplier risk and drive mitigation and contingency plans.
• Contracting & contract management: Support development and renewal of supplier agreements and NDAs; track obligations.
• Supplier management: Serve as day-to-day contact; monitor performance and lead corrective actions.
• Data analysis: Analyze spend, price trends, lead times, and supplier performance; build simple reports.
• Shipping, receiving & reconciliation: Resolve delivery discrepancies and variances with AP.
• Records & regulatory compliance: Maintain audit-ready records; ensure compliance with regulations.
• Scalable process development: Improve procurement processes to scale with growth.
