Job summary

nVent is seeking a results-driven purchasing professional to lead category strategies and supplier relationships in a dynamic manufacturing environment. You will align with global and local teams, collaborate with New Product Development, and drive cost, quality, and delivery improvements.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's in a relevant field, 3+ years in Purchasing or Supply Chain, strong negotiation and project management skills, and the ability to travel 10-30%. Lean knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years experience in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Strategic Sourcing, Commodity Management, Procurement, or Operations (manufacturing a plus).
• Strong project management skills to develop action plans, meet deadlines, coordinate cross-functional teams, and manage multiple priorities.
• Demonstrated negotiation skills to meet and exceed business objectives.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels (customers, suppliers).
• Excellence in analytical, fact-based problem-solving.
• Adapt to rapidly changing business circumstances in a dynamic environment.
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and supplier performance assessment.
• Travel 10-30%, domestic and international.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead category strategies and supplier relationships to drive cost, quality, delivery, and business performance.
• Align with global and local commodity teams to select suppliers and leverage negotiated agreements.
• Collaborate with New Product Development team and cross-functional teams to support business objectives.
• Support cost management initiatives, focusing on cost reduction, working capital optimization, on-time delivery, and quality.
• Coordinate and resolve issues regarding existing and new suppliers, ensuring all requirements are met through collaboration with customers and internal partners.
• Design and develop supply chain initiatives to achieve competitive advantage and improve responsiveness to customer demand.
