Job summary

nVent is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer to embed with our supplier base, coaching and transforming operations for delivery, cost, quality and innovation. This hands-on role drives measurable improvements at supplier sites and aligns with ISO 9001:2015 where applicable.

The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and 3+ years in supplier development or related roles, with experience in Lean or Six Sigma and travel of ~30–40%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a related field.
• 3+ years in supplier development or related supply chain roles.
• Experience deploying CI methodologies in manufacturing or supplier environments.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes; metal fabrication a plus.
• Willingness to travel 30-40%.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and improve supplier readiness to support new products and programs.
• Analyze and expand supplier capacity to meet demand.
• Lead supplier capability development and lean initiatives at supplier sites.
• Deploy Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen within the supply base to reduce cost and lead times.
• Partner with sourcing on supplier assessments and transitions for global sourcing.
• Monitor supplier performance via scorecards and business reviews.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop recovery plans with critical suppliers.
• Coach supplier teams to build sustainable manufacturing and quality capabilities.
• Support processes aligned with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.
