Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Procurement Leader to oversee global sourcing, supplier management, and inventory planning. You will lead a team of buyers and logistics professionals, drive cost reductions, and improve supplier performance across domestic and international markets.

The role blends strategic direction with hands-on decision-making, involving ERP systems, data analysis, and cross‑functional collaboration to support reliable customer delivery. Travel 10–20% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, operations, or related field or equivalent education and experience.
• 5+ years of procurement, sourcing, or supply chain experience.
• Direct experience managing buyers or a purchasing team.
• 3+ years leading people, projects, suppliers, or procurement programs.
• Domestic and international purchasing experience.
• Working knowledge of Incoterms, imports and customs processes, duties, tariffs, freight, and landed cost.
• Proven strategic sourcing and competitive bidding experience.
• Experience in supplier qualification and onboarding.
• Experience conducting supplier site visits and audits.
• Strong supplier negotiation and performance management skills.
• ERP system experience in a procurement or supply‑chain context.
• Advanced spreadsheet and data‑analysis capability.

Responsibilities

• Provide procurement leadership by managing an International Buyer and Logistics Manager, setting clear departmental priorities, and developing capabilities.
• Own the strategic sourcing process by identifying, evaluating, negotiating with, selecting, onboarding, and managing suppliers.
• Lead supplier performance management, including scorecards, supplier reviews, audits, corrective actions, contingency sourcing, and supplier exits.
• Oversee global procurement activities by evaluating landed cost and managing international purchasing considerations (Incoterms, freight, tariffs, duties, customs).
• Ensure inventory and material availability by analyzing forecasts, usage, open orders, lead times, inventory levels, and supplier constraints.
• Mitigate supply risk by developing backup suppliers and dual sourcing critical items.
• Maintain ERP and procurement records, manage approvals, contracts, supplier files, dashboards, and audit readiness.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, Warehouse, Quality, Engineering, Finance, and IT to resolve supply issues.
• Use advanced data analysis to monitor procurement performance, identify trends, and support data-driven decisions.
• Travel domestically and internationally to visit suppliers, conduct site visits and audits, and strengthen supplier relationships.
• Contribute to development and continuous improvement of procurement processes, systems, and team structure.
