Job summary

Zimmer Biomet seeks a Category Manager to lead end-to-end sourcing and commercial strategy for outsourced sterilization and cross-linking services. You will manage supplier relationships, drive multi-year category plans, and partner across Operations, Quality, Regulatory, Engineering, and Finance to optimize cost, risk, and resilience.

The role requires 5+ years in strategic sourcing, strong analytical and negotiation skills, and experience in regulated manufacturing environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, engineering, science or a related discipline.
• At least 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, category management, supplier management, operations, engineering, or related field.
• Demonstrated success developing category or supplier strategies and delivering measurable business value.
• Experience in regulated/manufacturing environments such as medical devices or life sciences.
• Strong commercial, analytical, project management and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to lead cross-functional, global teams.
• Proficiency with ERP, spend analytics, MS Excel, and presentation tools.

Responsibilities

• Execute a global, multi-year category strategy and sourcing roadmap for sterilization and cross-linking services.
• Lead sourcing events, supplier selection, and negotiations across multiple sterilization technologies.
• Build category intelligence from spend, demand, capacity, and regulatory data; translate insights into actions.
• Create total-cost models and ensure value through pricing, capacity, minimum volumes and service levels.
• Develop supplier relationships and govern via scorecards, quarterly reviews, and corrective actions.
• Identify and mitigate supply risks with second sourcing and alternate sites or technologies.
• Coordinate with Quality, Regulatory, Engineering and Operations on qualifications and transfers.
• Align long-range demand with capacity plans to prevent bottlenecks.
• Monitor emerging technologies and connect opportunities to roadmaps and product strategy.
