Job summary
Formlabs in Somerville, MA is seeking a Global Supply Manager to drive supplier selection, PFEP ownership, and cost optimization for new product introductions. You will coordinate with R&D to secure material and integrate manufacturing strategies across the supply base.
You will travel internationally up to 20%, build robust supply chain strategies, and ensure high‑quality, on‑time delivery for innovative products.
Qualifications
- Post-graduate experience in strategic sourcing, manufacturing, or supplier quality engineering.
- Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Willingness to travel internationally up to 20% for audits and relationship building.
- Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience developing process quality plans and supplier quality audits.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Strong data analysis, high attention to detail, independent yet collaborative.
Responsibilities
- Identify and qualify suppliers for new product introductions with R&D.
- Own PFEP in an NPI BOM; manage supplier selection, negotiation, and contracts.
- Facilitate clear communication of technical requirements between suppliers and R&D.
- Proactively research manufacturing technologies to build robust supply chain strategies.
- Identify supply risks, lead negotiations, and drive supplier performance improvements.
- Lead supplier manufacturing process development and launch readiness with R&D.
- Own cost modeling and cost estimation for new products.
- Source and procure materials for NPI builds and monitor material availability.
