JOB TITLE: Global Sourcing Manager, Dinnerware and Houseware

DEPARTMENT: Global Sourcing

REPORTS TO TITLE: Director, Global Sourcing

SCOPE OF POSITION

The Sourcing Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with international manufacturing partners to support the sourcing, development, and execution of Dinnerware and Giftware products. This role is accountable for achieving company objectives related to cost, quality, compliance, innovation, and delivery performance.Working closely with Product Development, Design, Planning, Quality, Compliance, and Supply Chain teams. The ideal candidate will possess strong sourcing, supplier management, negotiation, product development, and analytical skills, along with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects in a fast-paced global sourcing environment.

BASIC FUNCTIONS

Manage the sourcing for Dinnerware to achieve established business goals. Partner with internal clients and colleagues to support and achieve overall company objectives. Provide leadership and actively participate in total quality enhancement of product and process execution as well as total cost reduction

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Implement and manage short- and long-term sourcing strategy that broadens the company’s capacity and capability to operate professionally at different levels of the growth curve. Work effectively in a cross functional team to curate ceramic Seasonal ornaments and figurine product offerings at various price points and quality levels.

Execute the sourcing requirements for product introduction. Areas of concentration will develop best practices in:

New product concept development and direction setting based on manufacturing constraints and opportunities versus target costs

Manage sourcing portion of development calendar to ensure on time fulfillment of pricing, sampling, order placement and delivery.

Achievement of positive product performance as it relates to US government and Lenox performance regulations.

Achievement of quality standards on goods delivered

Achievement of target landed costs

Partner in the purchasing process for current/existing sourced product in cross functional coordination with internal staff involved in the supply chain management process: ensuring timely delivery on re-orders and pricing maintenance.

Manage existing supplier matrix; work with overseas sourcing and compliance teams to locate, qualify, and select appropriate vendors, agents, and brokers who can add value to our current supplier matrix. This will be accomplished through regularly planned travel to factories in appropriate countries. Continually monitor and evaluate performances of the factories and/or agents quantitatively and qualitatively to ensure standards of performance are maintained.

Provide input to operating unit, design staff, and product development teams on product selection, design, and direction from Sourcing perspective. Provide new product ideas along with samples and pricing by visiting factories, showrooms, and trade shows on a regular basis.

Keep abreast of industry product trends and manufacturing method changes. Attend trade shows to monitor trend and new product opportunities in appropriately sourced product categories. Proactively review manufacturing opportunities with vendors, agents, and factories.

Responsible for managing the purchase price variance and sourcing variance through proper maintenance and projection of landed costs within the system and management of actual costs versus the estimated costs, with all parties involved in the supply chain. Responsible for addressing quality concerns and costs of quality with vendors and internal resources.

Responsible for execution, and measurement of standard guidelines for product development procedure including testing, pre-qualification, proofing methodologies, pre-production process, order preparation, and shipping performance of the factories.

MUST REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree required in related discipline. Master’s Degree desirable but not necessary

Experience: At least 7+ years in Retail Buying, Consumer Product Management, Manufacturing Management, and/or Merchandising functions, preferably in Seasonal related product lines.
